Christopher Orr makes the case that how the McCain campaign has handled Palin is the factor that's causing her to fall apart, as evidenced by the difference between the Gibson and Couric interviews. Normally you'd expect a person to grow more proficient over time, but Palin completely unraveled. Orr posits that by shielding her from the press they have effectively blasted her confidence. Which makes sense. At this point it must be obvious to even Palin that she's being treated differently from all other candidates in history. That must take its toll.
