The November Surprise

I hate to be that girl who won't stop talking about 2004 ... and 2000 ... but we liberal white folk can't turn a blind eye to the fact that the Republican party is set on disenfranchising the black vote, as they have in the past two elections. And this time, we're not talking dimpled chads.

The Republican party in Macomb County, Michigan, where I was born and raised, has flat out stated that they will be identifying individuals whose homes have been foreclosed and denying them their vote. Guess who people who have undergone foreclosure will be voting for! While party leaders in other states may be less outspoken about this tactic (or maybe I'm just too lazy to do a Google search), but this tactic is not isolated, and it's not new.

And don't even get me started on voter caging, which is the primary tactic George Bush used to steal Florida in 2004.

I'm just saying, we can crunch all the numbers we want, but all the polling in the world doesn't account for flat out cheating. Check out StealBackYourVote.ORG to see what Bobby Kennedy thinks we should do.
